Islam in South Africa has always been a strong, united and peaceful religion. Muslims in South Africa have always been active in relief work through different organizations some of which are recognized globally. During the past few years, Islam in South Africa has come under attack from the Shia operatives from Iran who are desperately trying to convert the Muslims to their ideologies and recently from a certain group who are trying to lure them to their group by glorifying and sensationalizing the act of Jihad. This group has been using the medium of social media and graphic videos in which they show the extent of their operations and alleged signs of acceptance of their cause to the Muslims in South Africa. Their false promises of being part of reviving the khilaafah and creating an Islamic state.
The route they have adopted was firstly to alienate and create a drift between the masses and religious scholars of South Africa. The religious scholars of South Africa have come under immense pressure from the false ideologies being presented to the masses.
This group has refuted the Islam being practiced in South Africa which is predominantly the Islam practiced throughout the Asian countries which this group term as Indian Islam.
Their operatives and agents recruiting in South Africa and recruiters on the social media sites lure the victims by promises of a peaceful and free life in the Islamic state and practicing the true religion of Islam in the Promised Land. They term the current war as a build up to the Malhamah which is supposed to be the last war in Islam.
Recently an article which was published by a radio station is a letter sent from a South African who has moved to the Islamic State (Dowla). His claims of the Indian Islam and his version of true Islam is clearly a proof of the views held by the Islamic state towards the Muslims of other countries.
The view of the religious scholars of South Africa is that they are a deviated group who only seek attention and power. They have misrepresented Islam and their only goal in life is to fight against anyone that opposes them.
All they tweet and report about on the social media platforms is about the people they have killed.
Since the emergence of this group’s drive of recruiting, there seem to be a lot of South African Muslims who support them by refuting our religious scholar’s views. They have been brainwashed by misquoted proofs from the Quran and Ahaadeeth.
There are a number of Muslims from South Africa who have joined this group and migrated to Syria. Very often in the process they have torn family’s apart and created pain and sorrow to their loved ones. What could change a person to that extent that they leave all their family behind without a word and move away forever?
These are a few signs of a possible migration to Syria and steps to try to prevent it.
1. If any relative announces a migration to any middle eastern country, then find out of the job offer they have received and verify it by contacting the company involved. Always check the passports and visas applied for and hotel accommodation. The greatest tool of deception they use is lying and it may even be for a couple of years while they prepare. Any travel done on behalf of a company should also be verified and passports checked after they have returned. Always remember that they will lie and make an excuse for anything suspicious. They always aware of any suspicions on them and normally have a group in which they seek advise on their situations.
2. Abnormal meetings and outings whether it be for a holiday, fishing, camping and hunting.
3. Taking shooting lessons or archery.
4. Always staying at home or visiting friends.
5. Selling of everything before migrating.
6. Any travel to Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Turkey or Jordan
7. Downloading of jihad videos but in most cases they get it from the recruiters.
8. Changing of any names in their id’s or passports.
9. Suddenly resigning from a good job.
10. Ladies cutting their hair and men shaving their beards.
11. Shopping for outdoor gear.
12. Cashing in their retirement funds.
13. Withdrawing large sums of money.
14. Doing things that will cause them difficulty.
15. Being supportive and full of praise for that group.
16. Expressing their desire for jihad.
17. Being apprehensive when you question them about joining that group.
18. Sometimes women might be forced with joining their husbands and in that circumstance taking anti depressants.
19. Spending too much time on their phones.
20. Downloading messaging apps like kik, tumbler, wickr and telegram.
21. Always sayings things like we will meet in jannah when departing to go anywhere.

Remember to be vigilant at all times and check things which are out of the ordinary or change of behavior.
The greatest grief that a family goes through is despite the intense bond of love you share with your child they could lie to you for months about their lives, even though you communicate every day of your life. Leaving all your family behind without saying a word to join a group whom you have known for a couple of months compared to the people you have spent your whole life with.
All this can only happen if they are brainwashed with the notion that their Islam is pure without innovation and Syria is the blessed land. Their jihad is true and their victories are a proof to that. They are the ones that stood up to the oppression of the muslims and instrumental in setting up the Islamic state and re establishing the khillafah. All this is proven by misquoted verses from the quran and sayings of the prophet which they use to prove their point. We as the South African Muslim community do not think of verifying these proofs as they have already planted the seeds of hatred to our religious scholars.
No sane person would ever dare to join them if they verified everything they hear and say from this misguided and deviated group.
So be aware and vigilant at all times with issues regarding your faith.

ISIS- THE BLACK FLAG ARMY

As is usual with the discourse of the militant takfiri trend of Wahhabism to use imagery of end times and show themselves as characters of end time warriors, “Daesh” (who call themselves as “Islamic state”) – the newest mutation of this trend, are also now increasing their usage of such twisted interpretations of Islamic prophecies as a cover for religious blackmailing, and using it to recruit impressionable young men and women to take part in their crimes. With the rebellion in Syria against the tyrant Assad, Wahhabi groups started to enter Syria by taking advantage of the chaos and from them, Daesh, splintered out and back stabbed the Muslims of Syria and Iraq to form their personal “state” over the blood and bones of Muslims.  Daesh are trying hard to form a sellable narrative about themselves, their cause, their role and their authority in the Islamic Ummah and history. For this they are resorting to using end times battles which was prophesied in hadiths, as a tool to fit themselves into and place themselves as the end time righteous Muslim army fighting the battle of Armageddon. In this article we will make a brief number of points below, which would be more than enough to tear off that veil of delusion they have cloaked themselves in.

Below are two reliable hadith that has come regarding the “Malhama” in the Sahih of Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim:

Narrated Auf bin Mali: I went to the Prophet during the Ghazwa of Tabuk while he was sitting in a leather tent. He said, “Count six signs that indicate the approach of the Hour: my death, the conquest of Jerusalem, a plague that will afflict you (and kill you in great numbers) as the plague that afflicts sheep, the increase of wealth to such an extent that even if one is given one hundred Dinars, he will not be satisfied; then an affliction which no Arab house will escape, and then a truce between you and Bani Al-Asfar (i.e. the Byzantines) who will betray you and attack you under eighty flags. Under each flag will be twelve thousand soldiers.  [Sahih Bukhari]

Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The Last Hour would not come until the romans would land at al-A’maq or in Dabiq. An army consisting of the best (soldiers) of the people of the earth at that time will come from Medina (to counteract them). When they will arrange themselves in ranks, the romans would say: Do not stand between us and those (Muslims) who took prisoners from amongst us. Let us fight with them; and the Muslims would say: Nay, by Allah, we would never get aside from you and from our brethren that you may fight them. They will then fight and a third (part) of the army would run away, whom Allah will never forgive. A third (part of the army). which would be constituted of excellent martyrs in Allah’s eye, would be killed ani the third who would never be put to trial would win and they would be conquerors of Constantinople. And as they would be busy in distributing the spoils of war (amongst themselves) after hanging their swords by the olive trees, the Satan would cry: The Dajjal has taken your place among your family. They would then come out, but it would be of no avail. And when they would come to Syria, he would come out while they would be still preparing themselves for battle drawing up the ranks. Certainly, the time of prayer shall come and then Jesus (peace be upon him) son of Mary would descend and would lead them in prayer. When the enemy of Allah would see him, it would (disappear) just as the salt dissolves itself in water and if he (Jesus) were not to confront them at all, even then it would dissolve completely, but Allah would kill them by his hand and he would show them their blood on his lance (the lance of Jesus Christ). [Sahih Muslim]

The points to be noticed from this that exposes the hollowness of the claims of Daesh:

1) Prior to the “Malhama”, as in the narration from Bukhari, Muslims are actually in treaty with the Romans such that together they in fact even jointly invade another common enemy, as seen in the narration below:

Zu Mukhammar said I heard the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم say, ” You will make a Hudna (Truce Agreement) with the Romans, and together you and them will invade an enemy (located) behind you. You will be victorious, take much booty, and you will leave. Then, you will camp on a hilly pasture. When one of the Romans will approach (the Muslim army), raise a cross and says “The Cross has won”, one of the Muslims will get angry and take off the Cross. Then, the Romans will trick (bluff or deceive) you, and gather (prepare) for the Malhama (War). They will gather an army against you and come against you with eighty banners, each banner followed by 10,000 (or 12,000) men.” [Ahmad, Abu Dawud, and Ibn Majah]

Hence Muslims would be in a treaty with the Romans prior to battle.  But in the case of Daesh there was never a treaty at all.  Maybe their leader Mr. Bagdady noticing this PR fail, is going to make a truce with the “Romans” and jointly invade another enemy,  to fit himself into the prophecy ? Would be hilarious to watch him try, as most likely his own followers would label him a kaffir and behead him for that.

2) The war starts with Romans breaking the treaty or them first landing in Dabiq or a cross being raised by them. It does not start because of a bunch of terrorists attacking “Roman” civilian buildings, or by gathering savages in Syria to kindnap and behead innocent Christians as a form of incitement against Romans to invade Muslim countries. Rather Muslims only gather army against them after the treaty is broken by them and after the Romans have already landed first in Dabiq.

3) The army against Romans comes from Medina, as mentioned in the narration of Sahih Muslim, while according to another narration below comes from the Hijaz :

Amro bin Awf said that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “The Hour (of Resurrection) will not come until the nearest enemy-watching outposts (stations) of the Muslims will be in بَوْلَاءَ  Bawla.” …The Prophet said, “You will fight Bani Al-Asfar (Romans), and those who come after you will fight them, until the best people among the Muslims, the people of Al-Hijaz (Western region of Saudi Arabia that includes Mecca, Medina, and Jeddah), will go out to fight them, fearing nothing but Allah. They will conquer Constantinople (a variation of this Hadith says ‘Constantinople and Rome’) by (saying or chanting) Tasbih (Subhan Allah, meaning “praise & glory to Allah” ) and Takbir (Allahu Akbar, meaning “Allah is Greater”), and they will obtain booty the like of which has never been seen – they will share it out by scooping it up with their shields. Someone will come and say, ‘The Dajjal has appeared in your lands’, but it is a lie. Anyone who believes it will regret it, and anyone who ignores it will regret it.” (Ibn Majah)

Therefore its clear where the army is raised from and who are they composed off, and they are not by random people from Iraq, Tunisia, Najd and Europe. Mr. Bagdady won’t be able to enter a foot in Hijaz in his life time let alone gather a army there.

4) Looking closely at the contexts of the narration, one can see that this army from Hijaz is actually the army of Imam Mahdi because it is under his leadership Muslims fight Dajjal and gets besieged by Dajjal and his forces, after which Prophet Isa (alahy salam) descends. This is explicit in the narration from Tabrani:

Abu Umamah says that  Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said: ” There will be four Hudna (truces) between you and the Romans. The fourth (truce) will be mediated through a person who will be from the descendants of (Prophet) Aaron عليه السلام (or ” from the descendants of Heracles “according to Nuaim bin Hammad) and will be upheld for seven years. The people asked: ‘O Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم , who will be the Imam of the people at the time? ‘  He said: ‘( Nuaim bin Hammad mentions ‘The Mahdi ‘) He will be from my progeny and will be forty years of age. His face will be a shining star and he will have a small black spot on his right cheek. He will wear two Qutwaaniataan cloaks as if he is a man from the Israelites. He will reign for 20 years, extract the treasures, and conquer the cities of Shirk.” [Tabrani]

So the Malhama is an event that occurs after the arrival of Imam Mahdi.

The other alternative is that the narrations refer to a long stretch of period of time whereby it mentions of army right from the time of the Sahaba who fought the Byzantines until end times, in which case then events like conquest of Constantinople (and hence the Malhama) has already occurred and what remains to be fulfilled would only be the battle against Dajjal.

5) Regarding the identity of “Romans”,  what is the proof that all of Europe and West are to be considered “Romans” ?  During the Crusades the Muslims did not refer to the armies being fought as “Romans”.  That the Roman empire during its largest extent controlled much of West Europe does not mean they are all Romans, because the Roman Empire even controlled regions of Middle East and North Africa, including Syria and Palestine, but we don’t say people of Palestine, Syria and North Africa are “Romans”.

6) Another fail in fitting this prophecy to them, is that it is not just the nations of West but Muslim countries as well as Muslim rebels within Syria and Iraq fighting against them. How can they claim they are fighting “Romans” when they fighting against Muslims including Syrians and Iraqis the whole time ?

7) According to a narration from Sahih Muslim, Constantinople would be conquered by descendants of Prophet Ishaq (Isaac) (peace be upon him), rather than a mix bunch of Najdis and Tunisians led by Mr. Bagdady.

Abu Hurairah reports that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: ” ‘Have you heard of a city, a part of it protrudes into the sea ?’ They said ‘Yes’. He said: ‘The Hour (of Resurrection) shall not occur till seventy thousand (70,000) of the descendants of Prophet Isaac عليه السلام shall conquer it. When they come to it, they (descendants of Isaac who are Muslims) will not fight with arms, nor throw arrows. They will only say: ‘There is no god but Allah, Allah is the greatest’, then one of its sides will fall down. They will say for the second time: “There is no god but Allah, Allah is the greatest’, and then another one of its sides will fall down. After that, they will say for the third time: ‘There is no god but Allah and Allah is the greatest’, and then it will be opened for them and they will enter (the city) and acquire booty. While they will be dividing the booty, a caller will come to them and shout: ‘Verily Dajjal (Anti-Christ) has come out.’ Then, they will leave everything and return.” [Sahih Muslim]

The narration is also clear that it will NOT be conquered using arms/ weapons.

8) The “Malhama” happens only after Jerusalem flourishes:

Narrated Mu’adh ibn Jabal:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: The flourishing state of Jerusalem will be when Yathrib is in ruins, the ruined state of Yathrib will be when the great war comes, the outbreak of the great war will be at the conquest of Constantinople and the conquest of Constantinople when the Dajjal (Antichrist) comes forth. He (the Prophet) struck his thigh or his shoulder with his hand and said: This is as true as you are here or as you are sitting. [Sunan Abi Dawud 4294]

This flourishing is understood to happen after Imam Mahdi rules from Jerusalem.

9) The narrations say the assembly of Muslims during Malhama will be at Ghota (a place in Syria, East of Damascus).

Narrated Abu al-Darda’: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: The place of assembly of the Muslims at the time of the war will be in al-Ghutah near a city called Damascus, one of the best cities in Syria. [Sunan Abi Dawud]

Maybe Daesh should gather few dozen of their followers to sneak into Ghouta and stage a blag flags photo shootout there, to pretend among themselves like they have an assembly ready for the Malhama.

10) The Malhama battle and conquest of Istanbul takes place in 6 months.

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Malhama Alkubra (the greatest war), the conquest of Constantinople and the coming forth of the Dajjal (Antichrist) will take place within a period of seven months. (Abu Dawood 4295)

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: The time between the great war and the conquest of the city (Constantinople) will be six years, and the Dajjal (Antichrist) will come forth in the seventh.(Abu Dawood 4296)

Since Daesh is already getting bombed by the “Romans” in which case the Malhama has already begun, then time is also ticking for them to conquer Istanbul in 6 more months.

 11) Finally, according to the following narration which they usually love to quote (although even Shiites claim it for themselves):

Abdullah ibn Hawalah said: The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم  said: “Matters will run their course until you become three armies: an army in AshSham (Syria), an army in ‘Iraq, and an army in the Yemen.” I said: “O Messenger of Allah, which one I should join ? ” He said: “You should go to AshSham, for it is the best of Allah’s lands, and the best of His servants will be drawn to there. If you do not (go to AshSham), go to the Yemen and drink from its wells. For Allah has guaranteed me that He will look after AshSham and its people.” (Abu Dawud)

the army of Sham and army of Iraq are two different armies.  But is the army of Mr. Bagdady in Syria and Iraq a single army or a separate one ? He probably forgot all about this hadith when hastily trying to fit himself into self fulfilling other prophecys.

THE TRUTH ABOUT THEM FROM THE AHAADEETH

“Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu anhu) narrated: ‘I was in the home of Ibn Abbaas radhiyallahu anhu). He said: ‘Lock the door. Is there anyone else here besides us (i.e. the Sahaabah)?’

They said: ‘No.’        Then Ibn Abbaas (radhiyallahu anhu) said: “When you see the black flags coming from the east, then honour the riders, for verily our victory is in them.” (Then Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu anhu) said): ‘I said to Ibn Abbaas: ‘Should I not narrate to you what I had heard from Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam)?’ He said: ‘And, were you surely there?’ I said: ‘Yes.’ He said: ‘Narrate!’ Then I said:      “I heard  Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) saying: “When the black flags appear, then verily, its beginning will be a fitnah (trial/anarchy/mischief). Its middle  ill be dhalaal (deviation from the Haqq), and its end will be kufr.”

   Hadhrat Ali (radhiyallahu anhu)  narrated: “When you see the black flags, then cling to the earth (i.e. remain where you are). Do not move your hands nor your feet (i.e. do not aid them in any way). Then will appear insignificant people for whom there is no consideration. Their hearts will be like pieces of iron. They will be people of regimes. They will not fulfil promises nor honour pledges. They will (ostensibly) call to the Haqq (Truth) while they (themselves) will not be people of the Haqq. Their names will be patronyms (e.g. Abu this and Abu that), and their relationship will be to towns (cities, etc.). Their hair will be long like the hair of women. (They will perpetrate their shenanigans) until they will differ among themselves. Then Allah will award the Haqq to whomever He wills.” (Kitaabul Fitan of Abu Nuaim)

The book this Hadith is transmitted in (Kitab Al Fitan) was collected by a shaykh of Imam Bukhari (Nu’aym ibn Hammad), but a lot of its Hadiths have been criticized by scholars. The Hadith has weakness in its chain of transmission and is moreover classified as “maoqoof”, meaning it stops with Imam Ali since he didn’t explicitly say the the Beloved ﷺ told him this. However, it’s known in the Hadith and even tafseer disciplines that such reports from companions cannot be said of their own accord. So even if Imam Ali doesn’t explicitly say the Beloved ﷺ told him this, the nature of it (future prophecy) automatically makes up for that issue.

ISIS is summed up in a nutshell in these Ahaadith.   

The spectacular rush to ‘victory’ of ISIS – their swift conquest of the city of Mosul, the flight and melting away of the 30,000 Shiah army stationed in the precincts of Mosul, and the rapid capture of large swathes of territory in Syria and Iraq and of important oilfields which are the life-support of the U.S.A. by ISIS are not without mystery.

While a number of theories have been provided by people of diverse backgrounds, what appears clear is that  the fellow, Al-Bagdadi is a bogus ‘caliph’, or  he is the deputy ‘caliph’ while the real ‘caliph’ is sitting in Washington, namely, Murtad Obama who in turn is the surrogate puppet of the Yahood Mafia gang in control of America.       

The spectacular and swift gains of ISIS appears to be parts of a  massive conspiracy about which the Qur’aan says:

“…………….Verily, their plots are such that  even mountains can
move (from their locations or be displaced).”

Some contend that the swift ‘victory’ of ISIS is due to Allah’s Nusrat (Aid). The facts on the ground do not support this theory. The ‘victory’ of ISIS is superficial. When Allah’s Aid arrives, no air force, no army, no nuclear power can stall and thwart it. The Victory will be a genuine Victory which will spread like wildfire and be unstoppable. It will be similar to the Nusrat  which was with the
Sahaabah who had spilled out from the desert  to overrun the world in a matter of a decade. Like a raging storm and a wildfire they raised the Standard of Islam on shores of the Atlantic Ocean in the West, and penetrated China in the East.

What type of ‘nusrat’ does ISIS enjoy?  It has not  managed to take Baghdad nor has it indicated any serious concern for marching on Baghdad. It trumpets about invading and taking Spain, when it is miserably impotent to go to the aid of the Palestinians being butchered by Israel. It issues hollow and laughable threats of reaching Washington whilst Baghdad is right on its doorstep, held by a cripple, miserable Shiah rag-tag government.

The U.S.A. cannot afford that Saudi Arabia, Iraq, in fact the entire Middle East with its oil wealth, slip out of its control and influence. The U.S. will never voluntarily quit the Middle east. Its survival as a super power is dependent on Middle eastern oil wealth.

The matter of khilaafah.

There are two ways that a khalifah can be appointed.

1. The ulema of that particular era unanimously appoint someone. In the case of Mullah Umar of Afghanistan 1500 ulema took bay’ah on his khilaafah and at the appointment he initially did not accept that responsibility.

2. The previous khalifah appoint someone to succeed him.

Regarding Isis and Baghdadi, most ulema of Syria, Iraq, Arabia and all around the world appose his nomination and the modus operandi of this so called Islamic state.

Mullah Umar while being the leader never did pass any fatwa of kufr on those that did not take bay’ah

What have the ulema of the world say concerning ISIS?

(International Union of Muslim Scholars (represents over 1000 ulema from all over the world) that is headed by Shaykh Yusuf al-Qaradawi denounced the ‘announcement of khilaafah’ and said in their statement that the khalifah is a deputy on behalf of the Ummah and is not acceptable when proclaimed by a specific group.)

▷Syrian Islamic Assembly headed by Shaykh Usamah al-Rifai (represents a few hundred Syrian ulama) have stated that this group are representing themselves and NOT the Ummah. They are extreme takfiri (declare anyone who disagrees with them as kafir). Regard the killing of innocent Muslims, usurping the wealth of Muslims. They are a rebellious group (khawarij) who are generally ignorant of the Shariah. They have killed many leaders of the Jihad in Syria.

▷Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqubi (renowned scholar from Syria and one of the first to condemn the Syrian Government). They are khawarij and its haraam to be affiliated to them.

▷Shaykh Hasan al-Kettani (Moroccan salafi scholar who spent a few years in prison in Morocco) denounced the announcement of khilaafah.

▷Shaykh Abdurrazaq al-Mahdi (Syrian muhaddith) also denounced them

▷Shaykh Abdullah al-Muhaysin (Saudi Arabia). He was formerly a scholar with al-Qaeda but has strongly denounced ISIS. After his comments, many left the group

▷Ulama of Pakistan (Sh Ataullah  al-Afghani, former head of Shariah at the Islamic University in Islamabad, Pakistan)

▷Ulama of Iraq including shaykh al kubaysi have denounced Isis’s actions in Iraq

Shaykh Abdul Muhsim Abbad (senior scholar in Madeenah) whoever has given bay’ah to them has given bay’ah to shaytaan

Shaykh Ahmed Al Raissouni (moroccon faqih and specialist in maqaasid)  he wrote about the khilaafah and showed how this group are not on the methodology of our beloved Nabi (saw)

Shaykh Al Arifi (Saudi aalim) he withdrew his former statements and stated that the group murder Muslims and declare others as kaafir

Shaykh Ahmed Al Sayasinah (Syria) they are khawarij

Shaykh Muhammed Al Mas’ ary (Saudi exiled in Britain) agents of the west

Shaykh Muaadh Hawwa (Syrian and son of Shaykh Saeed Hawwa) they are worse than Bashaar Al Asad

Shaykh Hasan Wald Dedew (internationally renowned scholar from Mauritania) announcement of khilaafah is baatil

Shaykh Rashid Qabbani Lebanon

Molana Salmaan Nadwi Lucknow condemned them and their actions

Ulema of South Africa (UUCSA, Jamiatul ulema South Africa, all Daarul ulooms)

The difference

Rasulullah (saw) came as رحمة للعالمين

A mercy to mankind. He spread Islam by good akhlaaq and exemplary character. This groups actions are directly opposite of what nabi saw preached. They slaughter the kuffaar in barbaric ways and publicise and boast about it threatening the kuffaar. What kind of negative impression it creates about our beautiful and most just and peaceful religion of Islam.

This group has been fighting against the Sunnis in Fallujah and have killed hundreds of ulema

What is surprising regarding the military action from the USA is that in the war against Afghanistan any movement detected in the troubled areas was immediately bombed and in this action against this group this type of action is absent. All their movements and advances would be detected but no action is taken. It is just a show from the USA. It is apparent that they have an alliance with this group.

The actions which classify them as a deviant sect.

1.            Their wholesale announcements of kufr on those that do not agree with them. Unnecessary killing, killing of journalists, Christians and Muslims. Allah says ومن قتل نفسا بغير نفس او فساد في الارض فكانما قتل النا س جميعا

2.            They propagate to take the wealth of other people.

3.            They disobey their parents. To them hurting anybody in the process of joining them is no sin. How can this jihaad be accepted when at the time of joining them they disobey Allah by disobeying their parents whom Allah says about    ولا تقل لهما اف ولا تنهرهما و قل لهما قولا كريم Nabi (saw) says            الجنة تحت اقدام الامهات

4.            They propagate lying so that they can join the Isis. All those who leave to join them lie about their intentions. This action of theirs is one of the beliefs of the Shia

5.            They brand the tabligh jamaat as the army of dajjaal. There are hundreds of stories regarding the acceptance of this effort.

The lies and deception

Jihaad will remain till qiyaamah. Jihaad has certain conditions and limitations

The teacher of Abubakr Baghdadi a very senior aalim of Iraq has published a book

الدولة الاسلامبة بين الحقيقة والحق

In it he mentions that this group (Isis) is a deviation and has nothing to do with deen. They are the khawarij of our time. Rasulullah (saw) says their salaah will be the same as yours and their fasting will be the same as yours but they will have nothing to do with deen.

The enthusiasm of our youth is commendable. The problem is that the connection between them and the elders is not present and almost lost altogether. With the result they have now channeled that enthusiasm in the wrong direction. Remember show respect towards your elders and compassion to the young. The backbone of every community is the connection between the masses and the learned. Allah says

فسئلوا اهل الذكر ان كنتم لا تعلمون

When you are not sure and do not know then ask the people of knowledge.

In every facet of life the golden rule is the correct and pure intention and following the way of our beloved prophet (saw).

The ulema who oppose this deviant group cannot be accused of standing down while the Muslims are been oppressed but rather as in the case of the battle of Ahzaab when the Muslims were attacked and took a defensive stance by digging trenches. There are different methodologies that deal with oppression and the method used by the ulema does not diminish the courage and enthusiasm of their desire to protect the Muslims.

The world media and governments focus of attention a year ago was of the brutal invasion of Gaza and since this group came into the spotlight all the attention is on them and everyone has forgotten about Gaza. We can see the negative effects of their actions. All indications point towards a ploy by the foreign forces and agencies to divert the attention away from Palestine.

This recruitment ploy of theirs only damages the Muslims reputation in the respective countries and the freedom they enjoyed will soon be curbed as they will be seen as a third force.

We should make shukr of the countless bounties Allah has bestowed upon us. Having the freedom of religion is one of the greatest bounties which we enjoy. So let us make shukr for that bounty . There are those who have joined this deviant group and in the process of joining them and made hijrah have committed grievious sins. They have disobeyed their parents, lied and have been ungrateful to the bounty of Allah. They have discarded the bounty of freedom of religion and went in search for something better. They have discarded the responsibility of spreading Islam and went in search of killing people who hold the kalimah in their hearts.

We cannot fall for every slogan on the basis of emotion. The Islamic state of Syria and Iraq is a catchy and emotional slogan that every Muslim aspires for. To live in an Islamic state. Upon careful inspection and after seeing the modus operandi of this group they are nothing but a deviant group who seek power.

A peaceful and harmonious society is an objective of Islam. Not a society that rejoices upon the killing of humans as is evident from the people who live in this false Islamic state. All their news is about how many they have killed. What kind of men will emerge from this kind of society in the future? The slogan may seem rosy but the long term effects on your children will be damaging and un repairable.

Nabi (saw) during the treaty of Hudaibiyyah made so much effort on peace even though apparently the treaty was in favour of the kuffaar.

When there is hostility and hatred people will never see the beauty of your religion then your nobility and contribution to the country will hold no weight. The moment hostility and hatred is put aside then people see the beauty of Islam. This was the case in the treaty of Hudaibiyyah that Nabi (saw) orchestrated so that peace would reign.

The purpose of jihaad is peace.  The sword that is used in jihaad is like the scalpel of the surgeon that he uses to remove things that are harmfull to the body and not the sword of an executioner in which he takes delight in taking peoples lives.

Don’t be used and abused by deviant sects

There are more negatives than positives regarding Isis so let put the emotions aside and use our intellect to decide by the discussions above if that is what we really aspire for. Joining and supporting such a group that puts your aakhirah in danger should be avoided and strive for your Jannah by being an example of the excellent character of our beloved master Nabi Muhammed (saw).

Alhamdulillah through your continuous support, our Musjid and Madrasah has grown from strength to strength and likewise the success of our every fund raising effort.

The time for our annual lunch has drawn near, the funds from which the day to day running cost of our institution is made a bit easier.

QURBANI / UDHIYYAH

The aim of sacrifice, like all other fundamentals of Islam, is to imbibe piety and self-righteousness. It also promotes the spirit of sacrifice for a right cause. To explain its purpose, ALLAH says in the Quran. “It is not their meat, nor their blood, that reaches ALLAH, It is their piety that reaches ALLAH” (22:37)

Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) said: “On the 10th of Zil-Hijjah, there is no better act in the view of ALLAH than shedding the blood (of slaughtered animals). And verily sacrifice earns the approval of ALLAH even before the drop of blood (of the slaughtered animal) falls on the ground. Hence you should offer it in good spirit. For every hair of the sacrificial animal, there is a blessing”

Method of Sacrifice

The Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, said, “There is a reward for doing good to all living creatures.” Let us make this sacrifice an occasion to earn ALLAH’S reward and to avoid the punishment of those who mistreat animals.

Nahjul Balagha 2

Nahj al-Balagha (The Peak of Eloquence) is the most famous collection of speeches and letters attributed to Imam Ali.

• A virtuous person is better than virtue and a vicious person is worse than vice.

• Recommended prayers cannot attain the pleasures of Allah for you when obligatory prayers are left unattended.

• Value of a man depends upon his courage; his veracity depends upon his self-respect and his chastity depends upon his sense of honor.

• Every breath you take is a step towards death.

• Like your body your mind also gets tired so refresh it by wise sayings.

• A friend cannot be considered a friend unless he is tested on three occasions: in time of need, behind your back and after your death.

• There is enough light for one who wants to see.

• It is wiser to abstain then to repent.

• Obstinacy will prevent you from a correct decision.

• If two opposite theories are propagated one will be wrong.

• When truth was revealed to me I never doubted it.

• Death is never very far.

• One who forsakes truth earns eternal damnation.

• O son of Adam, if you have collected anything in excess of your  actual need, you will act only as its trustee for someone else to use it.

• When some blessings come to you, do not drive them away through thanklessness.

• He who is deserted by friends and relatives will often find help and sympathy from strangers.

• Every person who is tempted to go astray, does not deserve punishment.

• Our affairs are attached to the destiny decreed by Allah, even our best plans may lead us to destruction.

• Failures are often the results of timidity and fears; disappointments are the results of bashfulness; hours of leisure pass away      like summer-clouds, therefore, do not waste opportunity of doing good.

• Recommended prayers cannot attain the pleasures of Allah for you when obligatory prayers are left unattended.

• A wise man first thinks and then speaks and a fool speaks first and then thinks.

• A fool’s mind is at the mercy of his tongue and a wise man’s tongue is under the control of his mind.

• Lack of friends means, stranger in one’s own country.

• Not to have a thing is less humiliating than to beg it.

• Do not feel ashamed if the amount of charity is small because to refuse the needy is an act of greater shame.

• To refrain from unlawful and impious source of pleasures is an ornament to the poor and to be thankful for the riches granted is the      adornment of wealth.

• If you cannot get things as much as you desire than be contented with what you have.

• An ignorant person will always overdo a thing or neglect it totally.

• The wiser a man is, the less talkative will he be.

• Time wears out bodies, renews hopes, brings death nearer and takes away aspirations. Whoever gets anything from the world lives in anxiety for holding it and whoever loses anything passes his days grieving over the loss.

• Whoever wants to be a leader should educate himself before educating others. Before preaching to others he should first practice      himself. Whoever educates himself and improves his own morals is superior to the man who tries to teach and train others.

• Every breath you take is a step towards death.

• Anything which can be counted is finite and will come to an end.

• If matters get mixed up then scrutinize the cause and you will know what the effects will be.

• A man hypocritically started praising Imam Ali, though he had no faith in him and Imam Ali hearing these praises from him said “I am      less than what you tell about me but more than what you think about me”.

• Those who have come alive out of a blood-bath live longer and have more children.

• One who imagines himself to be all-knowing will surely suffer on account of his ignorance.

• I appreciate an old man’s cautious opinion more than the valor of a young man.

• I wonder at a man who loses hope of salvation when the door of repentance is open for him.

• If you understand Allah’s Majesty, then you will not attach any  importance to the creatures.

• If you want to pray to Allah for better means of subsistence, then first give something in charity

• When someone is sure of the returns, then he shows generosity.

• Aid (from Allah) is in proportion to the trouble.

• He who practices moderation and frugality will never be threatened with poverty.

• One of the conveniences in life is to have less children.

• Loving one another is half of wisdom.

• Grief is half of old age.

• Grant of patience (from Allah) is in proportion to the extent of calamity you are passing through. If you exhibit fretfulness, irritation,      and despair in calamities, then your patience and your exertions are wasted.

• Many persons get nothing out of their fasts but hunger and thirst, many more get nothing out of their night prayers but exertions and      sleepless nights. Wise and sagacious persons are praiseworthy even if they do not fast and sleep during the nights.

• Defend your faith (in Allah) with the help of charity. Protect your wealth with the aid of Zakat. Let the prayers guard you from calamities      and disasters.

• The first fruit of forbearance is that people will sympathize with you and they will go against the man who offended you arrogantly.

• One who takes account of his shortcomings will always gain by it; one who is unmindful of them will always suffer. One who is afraid of the Day of Judgment, is safe from the Wrath of Allah. One who takes lessons from the events of life, gets vision, one who acquires vision becomes wise and one who attains wisdom achieves knowledge.

• Bear sorrows and calamities patiently, otherwise you will never be happy.

• One who comes into power often oppresses.

• Adversities often bring good qualities to the front.

• If a friend envies you, then he is not a true friend.

• Avarice dulls the faculties of judgment and wisdom.

• Oppression and tyranny are the worse companions for the Hereafter.

• The best deed of a great man is to forgive and forget.

• Silence will create respect and dignity; justice and fairplay will bring more friends; benevolence and charity will enhance prestige and      position; courtesy will draw benevolence; service of mankind will secure leadership and good words will overcome powerful enemies.

• A greedy man will always find himself in the shackles of humility.
